Starting from 19 July 2021, Estonian visa center VFS Global will begin accepting D-visa application. An appointment is required for submitting an application. Visa requirements, application fees, appointment availability and other necessary information can be found on the Estonian VFS Global Visa Centre homepage: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/jpn/en/est
Visa application should be lodged at least 15-20 calendar days before the intended visit and cannot be lodged earlier than three months before the start of the intended visit.
The following visa types should still be applied at the Embassy:
*diplomatic and official visas
*Working Holiday Visa
*Digital Nomad Visa
Please note that the visa application requirements and guidelines will not change. The online application form should be filled out and all the required documents gathered prior to the appointment.
The application fee is to be paid in Japanese yen in cash upon submitting the application. Biometric data (fingerprints, photograph) will also be collected at the time of the application.
If you wish to enter Estonia as soon as possible, kindly note that it is currently possible to enter Estonia visa-free and to apply for temporary residence permit (TRP) upon arrival in Estonia directly.
