Schengen (C) visa

Holders of a Schengen visas are not automatically entitled to enter Estonia or the Schengen area but must respect the travel restrictions in place.

Starting from 27 January 2021, short term Schengen (C-)visa applications to Estonia should be submitted at the Estonian Visa Application Centre VFS Global in Tokyo or Osaka. An appointment is required for submitting an application. Visa requirements, application fees, appointment availability and other necessary information can be found on the Estonian VFS Global Visa Centre homepage.

Please direct any inquiries regarding Schengen visa application directly to VFS Global.

Visa application should be lodged at least 15 calendar days before the intended visit and cannot be lodged earlier than three months before the start of the intended visit.

Note that the online application form for Schengen visa should be filled out and all the required documents gathered prior to the appointment.

The application fee is to be paid in Japanese yen in cash upon submitting the application. Biometric data (fingerprints, photograph) will also be collected at the time of the application.
